Working Days Calculator — Count Business Days With Public Holidays

Count working days between two dates, or add working days to a date, skipping weekends and the public holidays of your country and region.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Count the working days between two dates, or add and subtract working days from a date, with weekends and the public holidays of 23 countries removed — including every German state, Australian state, Canadian province and UK nation modelled here.

Holidays come from a hand-written rule table (fixed dates, Easter, “third Monday” rules and each country’s weekend substitution rule), so any year from 1990 to 2100 works. You choose the weekend days and can add your own days off, such as a local holiday or a company shutdown.

Step by step

  1. Choose the country: Pick a country and, where holidays differ, the state, province or region.
  2. Enter the dates: Pick a start and end date, or switch to Add or subtract days to find a deadline N working days away.
  3. Set your week: Choose which days are the weekend and type any extra days off, one per line.
  4. Read the result: See the working days, weekend days and holidays removed, and every holiday that fell in the range.

Questions

Which countries are covered?

United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Czechia, Japan.

Are substitute and observed days counted?

Yes. UK, Irish, Australian, New Zealand and Canadian weekend holidays move to the next weekday, US ones to the Friday before or Monday after, and Japan adds 振替休日 and citizens’ holidays — those days count as days off.

What about holidays that aren’t a general day off?

Days such as Good Friday in the Netherlands or Easter Monday in Alberta are listed but counted as working days unless you tick the box to take them off.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The holiday rules and every calculation run in your browser, and the PDF, calendar file and CSV are made on your device. Nothing you type — dates, extra days off — leaves it.
