Laske työpäivät: count working days in Finland between two dates, or add them to a date, skipping weekends, holidays and Midsummer and Christmas Eves.

Midsummer Eve and Christmas Eve count as days off by default — untick the customary-days box if you work them. Vappu (1 May) and Independence Day are civic holidays; the rest follow the church year.

Working days in a whole year, Monday to Friday with public holidays removed — 2026: 252 in Finland · 2027: 253 in Finland.

Step by step

  1. Keep Finland selected: Finland is preselected — you can switch to any other country in the list.
  2. Enter the dates: For a count, pick the start and end dates and choose whether the end date counts. To find a deadline, switch to Add or subtract days and enter the number of working days.
  3. Set your week: Choose the weekend days (Saturday and Sunday by default) and type any extra days off — local holidays, a shutdown, leave — one per line.
  4. Check the holidays used: Under the result, every public holiday in the range is listed with whether it was a day off, on a weekend or counted as a working day.

Questions

Are Epiphany and Ascension always on their own dates?

Yes, since 1992. From 1973 to 1991 they were moved to Saturdays; this calculator starts them from 1992.

How many working days are there in a year in Finland?

Counting Monday to Friday and removing public holidays — 2026: 252 in Finland · 2027: 253 in Finland. Extra days off you add come on top.

Is the start date counted?

When counting between two dates, the start date is always included and the end date only if “Include the end date” is ticked. When adding working days, the start date itself is not counted.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The holiday rules and every calculation run in your browser, and the PDF, calendar file and CSV are made on your device. Nothing you type — dates, extra days off — leaves it.
