Privacy

Your files are processed on your device. When you open a file in an EasyConvert tool, it is read by code running in your browser tab and the result is created there too. Files are not uploaded to EasyConvert, and we have no server that could receive them.

What is stored on your device

  • Your theme, starred tools, recently opened tools and your cookie choice, in your browser’s local storage.
  • A few tool settings, such as saved colours or a whiteboard name, and a Gemini API key if you choose to add one.
  • Pages, code and on-device AI models you have used, in the browser cache, so they open faster and work offline.

You can remove all of it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

Features that use the network

  • On-device AI and OCR models (text recognition, transcription, background removal and similar) are downloaded once from public model hosts such as Hugging Face, Google’s model storage or jsDelivr. Only the model is downloaded; your file stays on your device.
  • Gemini mode in Chat with PDF and the AI summariser is optional and off by default. If you turn it on with your own API key, the text you ask about is sent directly from your browser to Google, and the tool tells you before anything is sent.
  • Peer-to-peer sharing and the shared whiteboard use a public PeerJS signalling server to connect the two browsers. Files and drawings then travel over an end-to-end encrypted connection — directly between the devices when the networks allow it, otherwise through PeerJS’s public relay server, which can’t read them and doesn’t store them.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which tools and pages are used, so we know what to improve. It records the page address without anything after it (no search terms or text typed into a tool), the page title, and general information Google derives about your browser, device and approximate location. It never receives your files, file names or anything you create.

Analytics cookies are only set if you choose Accept in the cookie banner. Until then, and if you choose No thanks, Google Analytics runs without cookies and sends only anonymous, cookieless measurements. Advertising features are turned off. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Google’s use of this data is described in its explanation of how it uses information from sites that use its services.

What we don’t do

EasyConvert has no accounts and no advertising, and it never uploads, stores or sells your files.
