Count arbeidsdager in Norway between two dates, or add working days to a date, without weekends and the 12 Norwegian public holidays.

Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are ordinary working days by law, though many offices close at noon; add them as extra days off if your workplace closes. Holidays that fall on a weekend don’t move.

Working days in a whole year, Monday to Friday with public holidays removed — 2026: 253 in Norway · 2027: 255 in Norway.

Step by step

  1. Keep Norway selected: Norway is preselected — you can switch to any other country in the list.
  2. Enter the dates: For a count, pick the start and end dates and choose whether the end date counts. To find a deadline, switch to Add or subtract days and enter the number of working days.
  3. Set your week: Choose the weekend days (Saturday and Sunday by default) and type any extra days off — local holidays, a shutdown, leave — one per line.
  4. Check the holidays used: Under the result, every public holiday in the range is listed with whether it was a day off, on a weekend or counted as a working day.

Questions

Why do Easter weeks have so few working days?

Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday are all holidays, so the week before Easter has three working days and the week after four.

How many working days are there in a year in Norway?

Counting Monday to Friday and removing public holidays — 2026: 253 in Norway · 2027: 255 in Norway. Extra days off you add come on top.

Is the start date counted?

When counting between two dates, the start date is always included and the end date only if “Include the end date” is ticked. When adding working days, the start date itself is not counted.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The holiday rules and every calculation run in your browser, and the PDF, calendar file and CSV are made on your device. Nothing you type — dates, extra days off — leaves it.
