Swedish public holidays (helgdagar, “röda dagar”) for any year, plus Midsummer Eve, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, with week numbers and a PDF calendar.
Sweden has 13 public holidays, but several are always on a weekend: Easter Sunday, Whit Sunday, Midsummer Day and All Saints’ Day (a Saturday between 31 October and 6 November). The National Day, 6 June, replaced Whit Monday in 2005. The eves are not holidays by law but are treated like Sundays by almost every employer, so they are included and marked customary.
Holidays per year, with how many fall on a weekday — 2026: Sweden 13 (10 on weekdays) · 2027: Sweden 13 (8 on weekdays).
Step by step
- Pick the year: Use the arrows or type any year from 1990 to 2100; the list for Sweden updates as you type.
- Read the list: Each row shows the date, weekday, ISO week, the English and local name, and tags for substitute days or days that aren’t a general day off.
- Print the calendar: Choose the whole year on one page or a month per page, A4 or Letter, and weeks starting Monday or Sunday, then click Download PDF calendar.
- Add it to your calendar: Calendar file (.ics) imports the holidays as all-day events into Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar; Spreadsheet (.csv) opens in Excel or Numbers.

Good to know
Sweden’s 13 public holidays (helgdagar) include several Sundays and Saturdays; Midsummer Day and All Saints’ Day always fall on a Saturday.
Midsummer Eve, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are not public holidays by law, but almost every workplace treats them as days off; they are marked “customary” and counted as days off.
Count the days between two dates, minus these holidays, with the Sweden working days calculator.

Questions
Is Midsummer Eve a public holiday?
Not by law — Midsummer Day, the Saturday, is. But Midsommarafton is a day off almost everywhere, as are Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, so they count as days off here unless you untick them.
How far ahead and back does the Sweden calendar go?
Any year from 1990 to 2100, worked out from the holiday rules — fixed dates, Easter, nth weekdays and the substitution rules — with known one-off holidays and start and end years applied. Dates a government proclaims each year can change, so check official sources for future years.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. The holiday rules and every calculation run in your browser, and the PDF, calendar file and CSV are made on your device. Nothing you type — dates, extra days off — leaves it.
