Dutch public holidays (feestdagen) for any year — Koningsdag, Bevrijdingsdag, Easter, Ascension, Pentecost, Christmas — with weeknummers and a PDF kalender.

The government lists 11 official holidays, but two are not automatically days off: Good Friday, and Liberation Day (5 May) except in lustrum years such as 2025 and 2030. Whether you get them depends on your collective agreement (cao) or employer, so they are marked here. King’s Day is 27 April, or Saturday 26 April when the 27th is a Sunday.

Holidays per year, with how many fall on a weekday — 2026: Netherlands 11 (6 on weekdays) · 2027: Netherlands 11 (5 on weekdays).

Step by step

  1. Pick the year: Use the arrows or type any year from 1990 to 2100; the list for the Netherlands updates as you type.
  2. Read the list: Each row shows the date, weekday, ISO week, the English and local name, and tags for substitute days or days that aren’t a general day off.
  3. Print the calendar: Choose the whole year on one page or a month per page, A4 or Letter, and weeks starting Monday or Sunday, then click Download PDF calendar.
  4. Add it to your calendar: Calendar file (.ics) imports the holidays as all-day events into Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar; Spreadsheet (.csv) opens in Excel or Numbers.

Good to know

  • Good Friday and Liberation Day (5 May) are official holidays but most employers give them off only if the collective agreement says so; Liberation Day is usually a day off every five years (2025, 2030…). They are listed but not counted as days off.

  • King’s Day moves to Saturday 26 April when 27 April is a Sunday. Holidays are not otherwise moved.

  • Count the days between two dates, minus these holidays, with the Netherlands working days calculator.

Questions

Is Good Friday a day off in the Netherlands?

Only if your employer or cao says so. It’s on the official list, but many shops and businesses stay open.

How far ahead and back does the Netherlands calendar go?

Any year from 1990 to 2100, worked out from the holiday rules — fixed dates, Easter, nth weekdays and the substitution rules — with known one-off holidays and start and end years applied. Dates a government proclaims each year can change, so check official sources for future years.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The holiday rules and every calculation run in your browser, and the PDF, calendar file and CSV are made on your device. Nothing you type — dates, extra days off — leaves it.
