Statutory holidays in Ontario, Quebec, BC, Alberta and federally regulated workplaces for any year, with observed days, week numbers and a PDF calendar.

Each province sets its own list. Ontario has nine public holidays including Family Day; Quebec has eight including National Patriots’ Day and the Fête nationale on 24 June; British Columbia has eleven, with BC Day and (since 2023) the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation; Alberta has nine general holidays plus optional ones such as Heritage Day. Days many people get without a legal right — Ontario’s Civic Holiday, Easter Monday — are listed and marked.

Holidays per year, with how many fall on a weekday — 2026: Ontario 10 (9 on weekdays), Quebec 9 (8 on weekdays), British Columbia 11 (11 on weekdays), Alberta 12 (9 on weekdays), Federal 12 (10 on weekdays) · 2027: Ontario 10 (9 on weekdays), Quebec 9 (8 on weekdays), British Columbia 11 (11 on weekdays), Alberta 12 (9 on weekdays), Federal 12 (10 on weekdays).

Step by step

  1. Pick the year: Use the arrows or type any year from 1990 to 2100; the list for Canada updates as you type.
  2. Choose your province: Pick one of the 5 provinces — the list shows that province’s days, substitute days included.
  3. Print the calendar: Choose the whole year on one page or a month per page, Letter or A4, and weeks starting Sunday or Monday, then click Download PDF calendar.
  4. Add it to your calendar: Calendar file (.ics) imports the holidays as all-day events into Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar; Spreadsheet (.csv) opens in Excel or Numbers.

Good to know

  • Statutory holidays are set by each province, and by the Canada Labour Code for federally regulated workplaces. Other provinces and territories are not included yet.

  • When a holiday falls on a weekend, most employers give the next working day off; that day is shown as observed. Under Quebec law only a Sunday 24 June or 1 July moves to Monday.

  • Non-statutory days that many people get (Ontario’s Civic Holiday, Alberta’s Heritage Day, Easter Monday) are listed but not counted as days off.

  • Count the days between two dates, minus these holidays, with the Canada working days calculator.

  • Want photos and your own events on a calendar? Use the Calendar Maker.

Questions

Is the Civic Holiday a stat holiday in Ontario?

No. The first Monday of August isn’t on Ontario’s list of public holidays, but the federal public service and many employers give it. It’s listed and marked “not a general day off”.

Which provinces observe Remembrance Day?

Of the jurisdictions here, it’s a statutory holiday in British Columbia, Alberta and for federally regulated employers, but not in Ontario or Quebec.

How far ahead and back does the Canada calendar go?

Any year from 1990 to 2100, worked out from the holiday rules — fixed dates, Easter, nth weekdays and the substitution rules — with known one-off holidays and start and end years applied. Dates a government proclaims each year can change, so check official sources for future years.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The holiday rules and every calculation run in your browser, and the PDF, calendar file and CSV are made on your device. Nothing you type — dates, extra days off — leaves it.
