Trim & Cut Video Online — Free, No Upload

Trim the beginning or end of a video with a preview and exact start/end times, without re-encoding by default.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Cut the beginning or end off a video. Drag the two handles under the preview, type exact times, or jump to the playhead while you watch. By default the video stream is copied without quality loss and only the frames near the start point are re-encoded when needed. Tick Frame-accurate cut to re-encode the whole clip for a precise cut.

Step by step

  1. Add your video: Drop it onto the upload area. A preview player and a range bar appear.
  2. Find the start: Play or scrub to the first moment you want, then click Set start to playhead — or drag the left handle, or type a time such as 0:12 into Start.
  3. Find the end: Do the same with Set end to playhead, the right handle or the End field. The new length is shown on the right.
  4. Choose precision: Leave Frame-accurate cut off for the fastest, lossless result, or tick it if the cut must land on an exact frame.
  5. Trim: Click Trim Video. The clip downloads in the same format as the original.

Questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The video is read, decoded and re-encoded inside your browser using its built-in WebCodecs encoders. Nothing is sent to a server, so private recordings stay on your device.

Does trimming reduce quality?

Not by default — the video stream is copied. Only with Frame-accurate cut ticked is the clip fully re-encoded, at high quality.

Which file types can I use?

MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV and MPEG-TS videos. Older formats such as AVI, WMV and FLV can't be read in the browser — you'll see a clear message if you try one.

Which browsers work?

Recent Chrome, Edge and Safari (17 or newer) work best. Firefox can read most files but may lack some encoders, such as H.264 — if a format isn't available, the tool says so before you start. Phones work too, but long or 4K videos can run out of memory.
