Austria’s 13 public holidays (gesetzliche Feiertage) for any year, from Neujahr to Stefanitag, with calendar weeks and a printable PDF calendar.
The list is the same in every state: nine fixed dates — including 1 May and the National Day on 26 October — and four that follow Easter: Easter Monday, Ascension, Whit Monday and Corpus Christi. Good Friday stopped being a holiday for Protestant and Old Catholic employees in 2019; since then every employee may instead pick one “persönlicher Feiertag” from their leave.
Holidays per year, with how many fall on a weekday — 2026: Austria 13 (10 on weekdays) · 2027: Austria 13 (9 on weekdays).
Step by step
- Pick the year: Use the arrows or type any year from 1990 to 2100; the list for Austria updates as you type.
- Read the list: Each row shows the date, weekday, ISO week, the English and local name, and tags for substitute days or days that aren’t a general day off.
- Print the calendar: Choose the whole year on one page or a month per page, A4 or Letter, and weeks starting Monday or Sunday, then click Download PDF calendar.
- Add it to your calendar: Calendar file (.ics) imports the holidays as all-day events into Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar; Spreadsheet (.csv) opens in Excel or Numbers.

Good to know
Austria has 13 statutory public holidays, the same in every state. Holidays on a Sunday are not moved.
State patron saints’ days (e.g. St Leopold on 15 November in Vienna and Lower Austria) close schools and some offices but are not statutory days off. Good Friday stopped being a holiday for Protestants in 2019.
Count the days between two dates, minus these holidays, with the Austria working days calculator.

Questions
Is 24 December a holiday in Austria?
No. Christmas Eve is a working day by law, though many collective agreements give the afternoon off.
How far ahead and back does the Austria calendar go?
Any year from 1990 to 2100, worked out from the holiday rules — fixed dates, Easter, nth weekdays and the substitution rules — with known one-off holidays and start and end years applied. Dates a government proclaims each year can change, so check official sources for future years.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. The holiday rules and every calculation run in your browser, and the PDF, calendar file and CSV are made on your device. Nothing you type — dates, extra days off — leaves it.
