Trim PDF Margins or Move Pages onto New Paper Sizes

Trim page margins in millimetres, then keep the new size or fit the content onto A4, Letter, Legal or A5.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Trim white margins from every page and, if you like, fit the result onto a standard paper size. Margins are entered in millimetres. Choosing Keep leaves the cropped page at its new, smaller size; choosing A4, Letter, Legal or A5 centres and scales the cropped content onto that sheet.

Step by step

  1. Upload the PDF: The same settings apply to every page.
  2. Enter margins: Type how many millimetres to trim from the Top, Right, Bottom and Left.
  3. Choose a page size: Keep, A4, LETTER, LEGAL or A5.
  4. Apply: Click Apply Trim & Page Size. The file downloads with "-cropped" in its name.

Handy for

E-readers and phones

Remove wide margins so text appears larger on small screens.

Paper size changes

Convert Letter documents to A4 (or the reverse) for printing.

Scanner borders

Trim the dark edges some scanners add.

Consistent bundles

Make pages from different sources the same size before merging.

Good to know

  • A4 is 210 × 297 mm and Letter is 216 × 279 mm. Trimming 10 mm on every side of an A4 page leaves 190 × 277 mm.

  • If the margins add up to more than the page, you'll get an error — reduce them.

  • Content is never stretched: it is scaled evenly and centred on the new sheet.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and processed by JavaScript running in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, and the result is created on your device.

Is the cropped area really removed?

The content outside the crop is not shown on the new page. It is still present in the embedded page data, so don't use cropping to hide sensitive information.

Does the text stay selectable?

Yes. Pages are placed as vector content, not converted to images.

Can I crop each page differently?

Not in this tool — one set of margins applies to all pages.
