Split a PDF by Ranges, Every N Pages or Page by Page

Break a PDF into several files by your own ranges, every N pages, or one page each, delivered as a ZIP.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Break one PDF into several smaller files. Choose your own page ranges, cut the document into equal chunks, or save every page on its own. When the split produces more than one file, they are bundled into a single ZIP download.

Other ways to split: by a word or phrase with Split at Keyword, by chapter with Split by Chapter, by file size with Split to Size Limit, or down the middle of each page with Cut Pages in Two.

Step by step

  1. Upload a PDF: Drop the file onto the upload area or click to browse.
  2. Pick a mode: Choose By ranges, Every N pages or Every page.
  3. Describe the split: For ranges, type groups separated by commas — for example "1-3, 4-10, 11-". Each group becomes its own file. For Every N pages, enter how many pages each file should hold.
  4. Split: Click Split PDF. One group downloads as a PDF; several groups download together as a ZIP.

Handy for

Send only what's needed

Separate a signed contract from its long appendices before emailing it.

Batch-scanned paperwork

Scanned 30 two-page forms as one file? Use Every N pages with 2 to get 15 separate forms.

Chapters for students

Cut a course reader into weekly sections with ranges.

Upload limits

Break a long statement into parts a portal will accept.

Good to know

  • A range without an end, like "11-", runs to the last page. One without a start, like "-5", begins at page 1.

  • File names inside the ZIP include the part number and page range, so they sort correctly.

  • If you only want one set of pages, Keep Pages gives you a single file without a ZIP.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and processed by JavaScript running in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, and the result is created on your device.

Can the ranges overlap?

Yes. Each comma-separated group is turned into its own file, so a page can appear in more than one output.

What does an error like "outside 1–12" mean?

A range refers to a page that doesn't exist. The message tells you the valid page numbers for this document.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied exactly; nothing is re-rendered.

Does it work offline?

Once the page has finished loading, processing happens locally, so a dropped connection won't interrupt a job that is already running.
