Remove EXIF Data — Strip GPS and Camera Info from Photos

Remove GPS location, camera details and other hidden metadata from photos before sharing, losslessly for JPG and PNG.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Remove hidden metadata — GPS location, camera model, dates and editing software — from photos before you share them. JPG and PNG files are cleaned losslessly: the image data isn’t re-encoded, so quality is untouched. Other formats are re-saved, which also drops all metadata. The colour profile is kept so colours don’t shift.

Step by step

  1. Add photos: Upload one or many.
  2. Remove metadata: Click Remove Metadata.
  3. Check the report: See what was removed from each file; the result is re-checked to confirm it’s clean.

Questions

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Every image is opened and processed inside your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, and closing the tab discards everything.

Does it reduce quality?

Not for JPG and PNG — only the metadata segments are removed and the image bytes are copied unchanged. HEIC, WebP and other formats are re-saved at high quality.

What exactly is removed?

EXIF (camera, settings, dates, GPS), XMP, IPTC/Photoshop info and comments. The ICC colour profile is kept, and so is the JPG rotation flag, so portrait phone photos still open the right way up.
