A precise metronome for practice. Set any tempo from 20 to 300 BPM, choose beats per bar, add subdivisions (eighths, triplets or sixteenths), accent the first beat, and see each beat light up. Tap tempo finds the BPM of a song you're hearing.
Clicks are scheduled on your browser's audio clock rather than a timer, so the beat stays steady even if the page is busy.
Step by step
- Set the tempo: Drag the slider, use − / +, or type an Exact tempo.
- Choose the metre: Pick Beats per bar and a Subdivision.
- Start: Click Start or press Space.
- Tap tempo (optional): Click Tap tempo in time with music; it averages your last taps.

Good to know
Use subdivisions at slow tempos to keep time between beats.
Turn off the accent for odd groupings you count yourself.
Questions
Will it keep time in a background tab?
Usually yes, because clicks are queued on the audio clock, though some browsers throttle background tabs heavily. Keep the tab visible for critical practice.
Why does it start silent on some phones?
Phones block audio until you interact with the page; tapping Start counts, but the silent switch on iPhones also mutes web audio.
