Good to know

  • CSV input needs columns named like lat/latitude and lon/lng/longitude; an elevation column is used if present.

  • GPX has no areas, so polygons become tracks along their outline — the tool tells you when that happens.

  • Track length uses the great-circle distance between points; elevation gain sums the climbs.

Questions

Are timestamps and elevations kept?

Yes — GPX → GeoJSON/KML keeps them, and GeoJSON → GPX writes them back to each track point.

Why is there no map?

Showing a map would mean loading tiles from a map service. The outline preview is drawn locally so your locations never leave your device.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is opened and processed by your browser on your own device — nothing is sent to a server, logged or stored. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool keeps working.
