Type into PDF Forms, Tick Boxes and Flatten

Fill a PDF's text fields, checkboxes and drop-downs in place and save them editable or flattened. Free, no sign-up, and your files never leave your device.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Open a fillable PDF form and fill it in right on the page. Text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons, drop-downs and lists appear where they belong, and the same fields are listed under All fields for quick tabbing. Save with the fields still editable, or flatten them so the answers can't be changed.

If the PDF has no fillable fields, the tool switches to free-form mode so you can type, tick, add the date or sign anywhere on the page.

Step by step

  1. Upload the form: The tool reports how many fields it found.
  2. Fill it in: Click into the fields on the page, or use the list under All fields.
  3. Choose whether to lock it: Tick Flatten — lock the answers so they can no longer be edited if you're sending a final copy.
  4. Download: Click Download Filled PDF.

Good to know

  • Need to add a signature to a fillable form? Switch to free-form mode from the link above the pages.

  • Answers in Greek, Cyrillic and other scripts are supported — the field switches to an embedded Unicode font when needed.

  • Keep an unflattened copy if you may need to change answers later.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and processed by JavaScript running in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, and the result is created on your device.

Why does it say no fields were found?

The PDF only looks like a form. Use free-form mode to type wherever you need.

What does flatten do?

It turns the fields into ordinary page content, so the answers display the same everywhere and can't be edited.

Are read-only fields editable?

No. Fields the form marks read-only stay locked.
