Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Open an Italian fattura elettronica (FatturaPA) and read it as a document rather than XML: cedente/prestatore and cessionario/committente with partita IVA and codice fiscale, the lines (dettaglio linee), the VAT summary (riepilogo IVA) with Natura codes, withholding tax, stamp duty, payment details with IBAN, and the attachments (Allegati).

It reads FatturaPA 1.2 for public administrations (FPA12) and between private parties (FPR12), as plain .xml or signed .xml.p7m — the signature envelope is opened in your browser. Files with several invoices (a lotto) show one tab per invoice. Codes such as TD01, N2.2 or MP05 are shown with their meaning in Italian and English.

Step by step

  1. Add the fattura: Drop the .xml or .xml.p7m file on the box. Base64-encoded .p7m files work too.
  2. Pick the document: If the file holds more than one invoice, choose it from the tabs above the document.
  3. Read the details: Parties, references (order, contract, CIG, CUP, DDT), lines, riepilogo IVA, other amounts such as ritenuta and bollo, then payment terms and IBAN.
  4. Save or print: Download as PDF for a readable copy; download attachments one by one from the Attachments list.

Handy for

Reading invoices from the SDI

Open the XML or .p7m copy you downloaded from the Agenzia delle Entrate portal or received from your accountant.

Customers abroad

Foreign customers of Italian suppliers can read the invoice with the codes explained in English.

Freelancers

Check withholding tax (ritenuta d’acconto), pension fund contributions and stamp duty on a fee note.

Good to know

  • The signature in a .p7m file is not verified here — the viewer only unwraps the content. Use signature software if you need to confirm the signer.

  • Unit of measure (UnitaMisura) is free text in FatturaPA, so it is shown exactly as written.

  • Since 1 January 2019 e-invoicing through the SDI has been mandatory for most sales between businesses and to consumers in Italy, so many invoices now exist only in this form.

Questions

Is the digital signature checked?

No. The .p7m envelope (CMS/CAdES) is unwrapped to get the invoice XML out; certificates and signatures are not checked. The page says so whenever you open a signed file.

What do N1, N2.2, N6.3 and similar codes mean?

They are the Natura codes that explain why a line or VAT summary has no VAT — excluded, not subject, not taxable, exempt, margin scheme, reverse charge and so on. The viewer shows the meaning next to each code.

My file has several invoices. Can I save each one?

Yes. Pick an invoice from the tabs and click Download as PDF; each document gets its own PDF.

Does it validate the invoice?

No. The quick checks only add up the figures in the file (quantity × price, the line total, VAT per rate, the grand total and amount due) and point out differences. They are not a formal EN 16931 or Schematron validation and don't check business rules, code lists or the schema — use your software's or the official validator for that.

Is my invoice uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and laid out by your browser on your own device — nothing is sent to a server, and the PDF copy is made on your device too. That matters for invoices, which carry bank details, prices and customer names.
