Good to know
If the result is lower than your monitor’s spec, check your OS display scaling or that you’re using the native resolution.
Phones report a high pixel ratio (2–4×), so CSS pixels are much smaller than physical pixels.
Questions
What’s the difference between CSS pixels and physical pixels?
Websites lay out in CSS pixels; high-density screens use several physical pixels for each. Physical = CSS × device pixel ratio.
Why does the refresh rate say 60 Hz on my 120 Hz screen?
Battery saver, a power-saving browser setting or your display settings may be limiting it. The Refresh Rate Test measures it in more detail.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. The test runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded or stored online.
