URL Encoder & Decoder — Percent-Encoding Online

Percent-encode or decode URLs and components, and break query strings into an editable table. Free, no sign-up, and your files never leave your device.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Percent-encode text for URLs or decode %20-style sequences back to readable text. Component mode encodes everything that isn't safe inside a query value (including / ? & =); Full URL mode keeps a URL's structure intact. Query strings are broken into a parameter table.

Step by step

  1. Choose Encode or Decode: The output updates as you type.
  2. Pick the scope: Component for a single parameter value; Full URL for a whole address.
  3. Form encoding: Tick Spaces as "+" for application/x-www-form-urlencoded data.
  4. Read the parameters: Any query string appears as a key/value table.

Handy for

Building links

Safely put search terms or names into a URL.

Reading tracking links

Decode long encoded URLs from emails or ads.

API debugging

Check how a parameter is encoded.

Redirect URLs

Encode a URL to pass it inside another URL.

Good to know

  • Non-ASCII characters (like ã or हिं) are encoded as UTF-8 bytes, e.g. S%C3%A3o.

  • Decoding a malformed sequence (a % not followed by two hex digits) gives a clear error instead of garbage.

Questions

When should I use Component vs Full URL?

Use Component for anything you insert into a URL (a search term, a redirect target). Use Full URL only to clean up an address that should keep its /, ? and &.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Everything is processed by JavaScript in your browser tab — nothing you paste or open is uploaded, logged or stored on a server. You can even use the tool offline once the page has loaded.
