  • Length matters more than symbols: 20 random characters or 5–6 random words is plenty.

  • Never reuse passwords across sites; use a password manager.

  • Passphrases use a list of 736 common words written for this site — about 9.5 bits per word.

Are generated passwords saved or sent?

No. They exist only on this page in your browser and disappear when you leave.

How is the crack time estimated?

It assumes an attacker can try 10 billion guesses per second offline against a fast hash, and needs half the possibilities on average.
