Turn a text-based PDF into an EPUB 3 eBook that reflows to fit any e-reader screen. Chapters are taken from the PDF's bookmarks if it has them, otherwise from its main headings, otherwise from groups of pages. Images are included, and you can set the book title and author.

Step by step

  1. Upload the PDF: Reports, papers and books with real text work best.
  2. Set the details: Enter Book title (it defaults to the PDF's title) and Author.
  3. Convert: Click Convert to EPUB.
  4. Read: Open the .epub in Apple Books, an e-reader app, or send it to a compatible device.

Good to know

  • A PDF with bookmarks gives the best chapter list. If yours has none, headings are used.

  • Complex layouts (multi-column pages, text on top of graphics) reflow imperfectly.

  • Scanned PDFs have no text to rebuild — run them through OCR PDF first.

No. The file is read and processed by JavaScript running in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, and the result is created on your device.

Does it work on Kindle?

Recent Kindle apps and Send to Kindle accept EPUB files.

Is the layout preserved?

No — EPUB is designed to reflow. For a fixed look, keep the PDF.

Which EPUB version is created?
