JPG (JPEG) is the universal photo format: small files, no transparency, and some quality loss every time it is saved. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which makes it ideal for screenshots, logos and graphics — but photos stay large.

Converting to PNG gives you a lossless copy: further edits and re-saves won’t add more JPEG artefacts. It won’t restore detail the JPG already lost, and the file will usually be larger.

Step by step

  1. Add your images: Drop your JPG files on Upload JPG images, or click to browse. Other image types (PNG, JPG, HEIC, WebP, TIFF and more) are accepted too.
  2. Choose options: Adjust the settings if you need to — the defaults suit most images.
  3. Convert: Click Convert to PNG. Each image is decoded and re-saved in your browser.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your images never leave your device, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes. Add as many images as you like. A single result downloads straight away; several results download together as a ZIP, and each one also has its own Download link in the results list.

Will PNG make my photo look better?

No — it keeps the photo exactly as it is now. Quality already lost in the JPG can’t be recovered, but no further loss is added.
