Image to Excel Converter — Table Photo or Screenshot to XLSX

Extract a table from a screenshot, scan or photo into an editable Excel sheet, with a grid you can check and correct first.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Extract a table from a screenshot, scan or photo into an editable Excel sheet. Table borders are detected and used as column lines; borderless tables are split by the gaps between words. Each cell is then re-read on its own for accuracy.

You see the detected grid drawn over your image and every cell in an editable table — delete or merge columns, remove rows and fix values before downloading. Amounts, percentages and numbers with thousands separators are stored as real numbers.

Step by step

  1. Upload: Click Upload an image of a table.
  2. Pick the language: Set Text language if the table isn’t in English.
  3. Detect: Click Detect table and check the outlined columns (blue) and rows (red).
  4. Fix: Edit any cell, use delete or merge → on columns, or remove rows with the ✕ button.
  5. Download: Click Download Excel.

Good to know

  • The ₹ sign isn’t recognised and is often read as a 3. When a whole column starts with 3, the tool offers a one-click fix.

  • Straight, high-contrast images work best. Crop away surrounding text first.

  • Merged or multi-line cells usually need a quick manual fix.

Questions

Does it work on photos taken at an angle?

Slight angles are fine; strongly tilted photos confuse the column detection. Use Scan to PDF to straighten the page first.

Are formulas detected?

No — the sheet contains the values shown in the image.

Is the image sent to an OCR service?

No. Text recognition (Tesseract) runs in your browser. The first time you use a language, its recognition data (a few MB) is downloaded and then cached; your image never leaves your device.
