Blur Faces in Photos — Automatic, On-Device
Find faces automatically on your device and blur, pixelate or black them out before sharing a photo. Free, no sign-up, and your files never leave your device.
Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Anonymise people before sharing a photo. Faces are found automatically on your device, then blurred, pixelated or covered with a solid box. You can remove boxes for faces you want to keep and drag to add any that were missed.
Step by step
- Upload a photo: Detection starts automatically.
- Review the boxes: Each detected face gets a box. Click a box’s × to keep that face visible.
- Add missed faces: Drag on the image to mark any face that wasn’t found.
- Choose the effect: Blur, Pixelate or Solid box, and set the strength.
- Save: Click Blur Faces.

Questions
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Every image is opened and processed inside your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, and closing the tab discards everything.
How does detection work?
It uses Google’s MediaPipe face detector (Apache-2.0), a small model that runs in your browser. The image is also scanned in tiles so smaller faces in group photos are found.
Does it recognise who people are?
No. It only finds where faces are; it doesn’t identify anyone.
