Audio Cutter & Ringtone Maker — Trim MP3 Online, Free

Select part of a song on its waveform, add fades and save it as a clip or a phone ringtone. Free, no sign-up, and your files never leave your device.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Cut a section out of any song or recording, or keep just the part you want. Select on the waveform by dragging (or type exact start and end times), listen to the selection, add a fade-in or fade-out, and download as MP3, WAV, M4A or OGG.

Turn on Ringtone mode to limit the clip to 30 seconds with a gentle fade-out. For iPhones choose M4A and the file is saved as .m4r — that's simply an M4A file with the extension iPhones expect for ringtones.

Step by step

  1. Upload a file: Drop an MP3, WAV, M4A or other audio file (or a video).
  2. Select a region: Drag across the waveform, or type Start and End in seconds. Click the waveform once to reset to the whole file.
  3. Listen: Click Play selection to check your cut points.
  4. Keep or remove: Choose Keep selection (trim) or Remove selection (cut out), and set fade lengths if you want.
  5. Download: Pick a format and click Cut & download (or Remove & download).

Handy for

Ringtones & alarms

Grab the chorus of a song you own as a 30-second ringtone.

Podcast clips

Share a highlight from a longer episode.

Clean recordings

Remove a cough, mistake or silence from the middle of a recording.

Notification sounds

Make short alert tones for apps and devices.

Good to know

  • A short fade-in and fade-out (0.5–1 s) avoids clicks at the cut points.

  • For precise edits, play the selection, then nudge the numbers in hundredths of a second.

  • On Android, MP3 ringtones work directly; copy them to the Ringtones folder or pick them in Sound settings.

Questions

How do I put the .m4r on my iPhone?

Add it to your iPhone with Finder (macOS) or iTunes/Apple Devices (Windows) — drag it to the device's Tones section — then choose it in Settings → Sounds.

Can I cut several parts at once?

One selection is processed at a time. Remove one part, download, then load the result and remove the next.

Which formats can I open?

Anything your browser can decode: MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG (Vorbis and Opus), FLAC, WEBM and AIFF on most systems — and the soundtrack of MP4, MOV or WEBM videos. Very unusual codecs (for example AMR or WMA) usually can't be read.

Are my audio files uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding, editing and encoding all happen inside your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, and closing the tab discards everything you haven't downloaded.
