WebM to MP3 Converter — Free, No Upload

WebM to MP3 Converter: save a video's soundtrack as MP3, M4A, WAV or OGG — from MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV files.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Save a video's soundtrack as MP3, M4A (AAC), WAV or OGG (Opus). Works with MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV videos, entirely in your browser.

Step by step

  1. Add a video: Drop it onto the upload area. Videos without sound are flagged.
  2. Pick an audio format: MP3 for compatibility, M4A for good quality at small sizes, WAV for uncompressed audio, OGG (Opus) for very efficient speech.
  3. Choose a bitrate: Not needed for WAV. 192 kbps suits most uses.
  4. Extract: Click Extract … — the file downloads and appears in a player.

Handy for

Editing audio

Use WAV for lossless editing in an audio app.

Ringtones

Extract, then cut a section with an audio cutter.

Lectures

Listen to a recorded class on the go.

Archiving

Keep the sound of a long recording in a small M4A.

Good to know

  • WAV files are about ten times bigger than MP3 — use them only when you need uncompressed audio.

Questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The video is read, decoded and re-encoded inside your browser using its built-in WebCodecs encoders. Nothing is sent to a server, so private recordings stay on your device.

Which file types can I use?

MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV and MPEG-TS videos. Older formats such as AVI, WMV and FLV can't be read in the browser — you'll see a clear message if you try one.

Which browsers work?

Recent Chrome, Edge and Safari (17 or newer) work best. Firefox can read most files but may lack some encoders, such as H.264 — if a format isn't available, the tool says so before you start. Phones work too, but long or 4K videos can run out of memory.
