Typing Speed Test — Check Your WPM and Accuracy, Free
Typing Speed Test: measure your typing speed and accuracy in English or Hindi (Unicode or Kruti Dev keys) with timed tests and a heat-map of missed keys.
Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Measure your typing speed in words per minute (WPM) and your accuracy with 1, 2, 3 or 5-minute tests or a single passage. Practise in English, in Hindi with your system’s Unicode keyboard (InScript or phonetic), or in Hindi with Kruti Dev (Remington) keys — the layout many government typing tests still use.
All passages were written for EasyConvert. You can also paste your own practice text.
Step by step
- Choose a language: Pick English, Hindi (Unicode) or Hindi (Kruti Dev keys).
- Choose the test length: Select 1 min, 2 min, 3 min, 5 min or One passage.
- Start typing: Click the box under the passage and type. The timer starts with your first key; mistakes turn red as you go.

- Try again: Press New test for a fresh passage. Your last results are listed below and kept on this device.
Handy for
Exam practice
Prepare for SSC, CPCT, court and other typing tests that ask for a minimum speed.
Job applications
Find out your real WPM before you mention it on a CV.
Hindi typing
Practise Unicode Hindi or the Remington/Kruti Dev layout for government jobs.
Daily improvement
Track speed and accuracy over time from the results table.
Good to know
Accuracy first: net WPM subtracts uncorrected mistakes, so careless speed doesn’t pay.
Look at the key heat-map after each English test and drill the red keys.
In Kruti Dev mode keep your keyboard in English — the keys are converted to Hindi as you type (for example f before a consonant gives the ि matra).
Pasting is disabled in the typing box so results stay honest.
Questions
How is WPM calculated?
The standard way: every five characters you type count as one word. Gross WPM is characters ÷ 5 ÷ minutes; net WPM subtracts uncorrected errors per minute. Accuracy counts every wrong key, including ones you fixed.
Which Hindi keyboard should I use?
In Hindi (Unicode) mode use whatever Hindi input your computer has (InScript, Remington GAIL or phonetic). Characters are checked exactly, so practise with the keyboard your exam uses. Kruti Dev keys mode needs no Hindi keyboard at all.
Is this the same as the official exam software?
No — exam software differs in how it counts errors and words. Treat this as practice and check the scoring rules in your exam notification.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, and anything you save (decks, timetables, results) stays in this browser’s local storage on your device.
