Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Work with fractions, mixed numbers and decimals and get exact answers with the working shown. Simplify fractions, turn decimals (including repeating ones) into fractions, and turn fractions into decimals with the repeating part marked.
Step by step
- Pick a mode: Choose Calculate, Simplify, Decimal → fraction or Fraction → decimal.
- Enter your numbers: Type fractions like 3/4, mixed numbers like 2 1/3, decimals or negatives.
- Choose the operation: In Calculate mode press +, −, × or ÷.
- Read the answer and steps: You get the simplified fraction, the mixed number, the decimal and the steps (common denominator, multiplying, simplifying).
Handy for
Homework checking
See each step so you can find where your own working went wrong.
Recipes and measurements
Add 3/4 cup and 2/3 cup, or halve 1 1/2 teaspoons.
Repeating decimals
Turn 0.1666… into 1/6 by writing 0.1(6).
Woodwork
Add and subtract inch fractions like 5/8 and 3/16.
Good to know
Put repeating digits in brackets: 0.(3) means 0.333…, 0.1(6) means 0.1666….
For long decimals you also see the closest simple fraction with a denominator up to 1000.
A space separates the whole part of a mixed number: “2 1/3”.
Questions
Are the answers rounded?
No — this tool works with exact fractions using arbitrary-size whole numbers, so 1/3 stays 1/3. Decimals are shown alongside for convenience.
Can I enter negative mixed numbers?
Yes — “-1 1/2” means −(1 + 1/2) = −3/2.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, and anything you save (decks, timetables, results) stays in this browser’s local storage on your device.
