XIRR Calculator — Returns on Irregular Investments

Calculate the annualised return (XIRR) on investments made on different dates, just like Excel. Free, no sign-up, and your files never leave your device.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Measure the true annualised return of investments made on different dates — SIPs, top-ups, partial withdrawals — the same way Excel’s XIRR does. Enter money you invested as negative amounts and money received (or today’s value) as positive.

You can type rows one by one or paste them from a spreadsheet.

Step by step

  1. Enter cash flows: Give each row a date and amount; click Add cash flow for more.
  2. Or paste: Paste “date, amount” lines into the box and click Use pasted rows. Dates can be YYYY-MM-DD or DD/MM/YYYY.
  3. Add the current value: Include today’s value as a positive amount if you still hold the investment.
  4. Read XIRR: The annualised return, total invested and gain appear instantly.

Handy for

Good to know

  • There must be at least one negative and one positive amount.

  • Results match Excel’s XIRR, which uses a 365-day year.

Questions

What’s the difference between XIRR and CAGR?

CAGR works for one investment and one final value; XIRR handles many cash flows on different dates.

Can I rely on this for filing or investing?

Use it for planning. Rules, rates and your own circumstances matter — confirm with official sources or a qualified adviser before acting.

Are my numbers sent anywhere?

No. Every calculation runs in your browser; nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
