Mind Map Maker — Turn Notes into a Mind Map

Type an indented outline and get a colourful, collapsible mind map you can download as SVG, PNG or PDF.

Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Write your ideas as an indented list and get a colourful mind map instantly. The first line becomes the centre topic, and each indented line becomes a branch. Main branches are spread evenly to the left and right, each in its own colour.

Click a topic to fold or unfold its branch, then download the map as SVG, PNG or PDF — or save the outline as Markdown or Mermaid code to reuse elsewhere.

Step by step

  1. Write the centre topic: Type it on the first line of the Outline box.
  2. Add branches: Put each idea on its own line and indent it under its parent with spaces or Tab. Bullets like “-” are optional.
  3. Explore: Click a topic with sub-topics (or focus it and press Enter) to fold or unfold it. Use Expand all or Collapse branches.
  4. Download: Choose a background and click Download SVG, Download PNG or Download PDF. Folded branches stay folded in the download.

Good to know

  • In the outline box, Tab adds two spaces. Press Esc and then Tab to move to the next control with the keyboard.

  • Long topics wrap onto up to three lines — shorter phrases make cleaner maps.

  • Choose Fit to see the whole map, or 100% to read a big one at full size and scroll.

  • Open Outline view for a text version of the map, useful with screen readers.

Questions

What if a line isn’t indented?

It’s attached directly to the centre topic, and a note tells you which line it was.

Can I paste notes from another app?

Yes — bulleted lists from Word, Google Docs or note apps paste in with their indentation; bullets and numbers are ignored.

How big can a map be?

There’s no hard limit, but past a few hundred topics a single map gets hard to read. Fold branches or split the map.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is drawn in your browser, so your numbers, text and word lists never leave your device.
