JSON to CSV Converter — Flatten Nested JSON for Excel
Turn a JSON array into CSV with nested fields flattened to dot paths and a choice of delimiter. Free, no sign-up, and your files never leave your device.
Free, with no sign-up and no watermark. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Convert a JSON array of objects into a CSV file you can open in Excel or Google Sheets. Nested objects become dot-path columns like address.city, and you choose how arrays are handled. Columns are the union of all keys, so records with missing fields still line up.
Step by step
- Paste or open JSON: An array of objects works best. An object that wraps an array (like
{"data": [...]}) is detected automatically. - Choose a delimiter: Comma for most tools, Semicolon for Excel in many European locales, Tab for TSV, or Pipe.
- Decide on arrays: One column per item creates
tags.0,tags.1…; Join with "; " keeps a list in a single cell. - Check the preview: The first 50 rows appear as a table under the output.
- Download: Click Download to save
data.csv.
Handy for
API data to spreadsheets
Export records from an API for analysis in Excel.
Reports for non-developers
Share JSON exports with colleagues who live in spreadsheets.
Database imports
Prepare CSV files for tools that import tabular data.
Quick inspection
See every field of a large JSON array side by side.
Good to know
Values containing the delimiter, quotes or line breaks are quoted automatically, so the CSV stays valid.
Untick Header row if you are appending rows to an existing file.
To go back, use CSV to JSON with Nest "a.b" headers ticked — it rebuilds the nested objects.
Questions
What if objects have different keys?
Every key seen in any object becomes a column; missing values are left empty.
Excel shows everything in one column — why?
Your Excel expects semicolons. Choose Semicolon as the delimiter and download again.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Everything is processed by JavaScript in your browser tab — nothing you paste or open is uploaded, logged or stored on a server. You can even use the tool offline once the page has loaded.
